OMI, derived from the Yoruba word for “water,” reflects the calm strength and fluid movement found at the ocean’s surface. Inspired by Makoko and Shodeinde’s perception of water as a quiet yet powerful presence, the chair is conceived as a moment of pause within motion.

Layered and hand-sculpted from ash, the sculptural structure mirrors the gentle rise and fall of water in motion. The contours of the chair hold ripples in time, balanced, rhythmic, and composed, transforming fluidity into a tactile, architectural form that invites reflection and stillness
